Heritage By Dulux

Walking into my local Canterbury Dulux Decorating Centre branch and seeing the Heritage by Dulux range really stirred my interests as a painter, therefore I had to create a review!

Before recommending this paint as an option to my customers, I first wanted to try it out in familiar territory, I guess it was time to redecorate my property anyway! The first matter at hand is there isn’t too much choice in terms of finish or colours, my theory is so it can really remain a premium paint, and it works well as it isn’t overwhelming for me as a customer or painter. For walls and ceilings the distinct finish of Velvet Matt witch is soft to the touch on walls and the premium Eggshell finish for woodwork and metals.

Dulux Heritage Velvet Matt - Stone Green

For application of the Velvet Matt, after a good stir, the paint starts to loosen up and the in can consistency is pretty good! Not to thin or not to thick, so i would say all round great for application and easily controlled for cutting in. And its pretty much the same for the Eggshell finish, the paint flows off the brush and the brush marks generally ease themselves out.

So what makes Dulux Heritage different from the rest? Well the finely ground down particles allow for the paint to have that Velvet finish even though its a Matt. Also, the unique binder technology makes it a long lasting durable paint and the viscosity of the paint allows for a more even and smoother finish that allows the end product to look great! But what really surprised me was the price! For such a premium paint the cost difference wasn’t to far different to the Diamond Matt range witch was my preferred durable paint of choice so in conclusion Heritage by Dulux is a win win for me.
